  PABLO’S PICASSOS He’s one of our all-time favorites, and his work will be arriving right here in Seattle this fall. From October 8/10 - January 17/11, The Seattle Art Museum will present a landmark exhibition of the work of Pablo Picasso. And just how are we going to mark this momentous moment? We’re offering an extra special series of classes exploring the work featured in this exciting collection from the Musée National Picasso in Paris. And the paintings in this particular collection are some of HIS favorites -- the ones that he was most proud of, and kept in his personal collection. We’ll cover his major periods, from the Blue Period to work completed in the early 1970's. We’ll learn about his life and some of the work he loved most. Oh yes, and we’ll paint, paint, paint! Some our student’s work will even be displayed in the First Floor Corridor Gallery at SAM. How cool is that? Early Masters will also be hosting some kid’s activities at SAM’s Picasso Family Festival on Oct 16th.   Although it occurs around the same time of the year as Halloween, Dia de los Muertos or Day of the Dead, celebrated in Latin American countries, is a very different holiday, with a different focus. To ‘celebrate’ this time of year, we’ll take a look at the exciting Mexican culture and art through the eyes of its most famous couple, Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera and make fabulously creative Day of the Dead art including sugar skulls, Posada images, and milagro crosses.
